WAREHOUSE TECHNICIAN

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a full-time Warehouse Technician. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

We have an opening for the position of Warehouse Technician. The Warehouse Technician will perform all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, organizing, storing, handling, processing, packing, shipping and delivering incoming stock and materials. This position reports to the warehouse manager.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Receives incoming materials accurately and promptly.
  • Verifies quantities and descriptions of materials received by checking merchandise against packing list.
  • Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items and appropriately reports/records any discrepancies.
  • Places materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner.
  • Enters quantity received against purchase order in computer system.
  • Produces and works from pick list to accurately assemble stock, supplies, tools and equipment into individually marked bins for installation and repair employees.
  • Safely operates all necessary equipment including forklift in work area.
  • Conducts accurate periodic inventories to monitor stock levels and participate in random monthly and planned year-end physical inventory counts.
  • Cleans and refurbishes equipment for use in the field.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Delivers mail, supplies, tools, and equipment to staff.
  • Wears proper safety equipment and adheres to all safety guidelines. Reports potential risks or problems to warehouse manager immediately.
  • Keeps work areas and warehouse clean and tidy.
  • Actively participates in continuous evaluation of processes and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the methods and practices used in receiving, storing, shipping and packing materials and supplies in the warehouse.
  • Knowledge of ATMC’s products and services.
  • Knowledge of workflows, company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the powered materials handling equipment (e.g., carts, forklifts, pallet jacks) used in receiving, storing, and shipping materials and supplies and the ability to obtain and maintain the required equipment certifications.
  • Ability to perform functions on the Microsoft AX ERP system pertaining to warehouse functions.
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, fax and various software and applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) to complete tasks including sending emails, maintaining warehouse records, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for checking, counting, shipping and tracking material.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with distractions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to store materials, supplies and equipment in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms or other areas.
  • Ability to determine and execute proper storage methods, identification and stock location based on shelf life and space availability.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely, detailed and orderly manner.
  • Willingness to work overtime to complete work assignments and ensure warehouse coverage.
  • Ability to be objective and flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments and other interactions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing projects and assignments.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to practice personal safety and vigilance in the identification of safety or security hazards to actively support a safe and hazard free working environment.
Minimum Qualifications/Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a related field preferred.
1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred.

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Accounting Assistant records financial transactions for ATMC, ATMC Cable, ASC, LLC, and ATMC, LLC. Provides accounting and clerical support to accounting department. Performs all duties associated with accounts payable and/or payroll. Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties requiring a knowledge of assigned accounting functions. Maintains organization records.

The Accounting Assistant reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Records financial transactions in compliance with and in accordance with GAAP and regulated industry guidelines for four companies and six lines of business. This includes reconciling, validating and ensuring completeness and sufficiency of the financial data. Maintains financial records in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Performs scanning duties associated with accounting and organization records.
  • Performs accounting duties associated with accounts payable for four companies with a large volume of transactions. Verifies accuracy and approval for all invoice purchases. Responsible for supporting one or more accounting areas including accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, payroll, inventory management, cost studies, contract maintenance, unclaimed property management, census reporting, and grant reporting. Researches and tracks accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Performs payroll duties for two companies. Processes bi-weekly payrolls. Reviews pay rate and benefit changes to ensure accuracy. Communicates with Human Resources regarding changes and corrections. Calculates, remits, and files payroll taxes. Records accounting transactions for payroll taxes and benefits. Creates and files payroll reports.
  • Assists in preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annually, for use by management and external sources in assessing financial status of organization. Assists with development and maintenance of budgets, prepares periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Maintains continuing property records by evaluating and inventorying real property and equipment, recording information such as the property description, item number, value, and location.
  • Assists with preparation for the audit process
  • Performs all other duties assigned by Director of Corporate Accounting.

COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES TECHNICIAN

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a Communications Services Technician. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Communications Services Technician installs, maintains, and services telephone, cable television (CATV), fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP), broadband, DSL, and VDSL service and IPTV Triple Play services.

This position reports to the Manager, Communications Services.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Installs new services and equipment for subscribers by installing CAT 5 wiring, co-ax cable, aerial drop wire, fiber optic cables and related equipment, ground blocks, station protectors, network interface devices, CATV splitters, CATV amps, modems, routers, switches, HPNA bridges, CATV boxes, indoor and outdoor power supplies, ONTs, and MDUs.
  • Verifies Quality of Service by means of various test equipment, including, but not limited to: Laptops, JDSU V3 Meter, EXPO Meter, Sunrise Meter, Tempo Sidekick, Cable Scout, Dynatel Locator, Fiber Light Meter, Volt/OHM, and Data Safe Test Sets.
  • Wires new services using various power tools, hand tools, and equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs existing services and equipment.
  • Maintains accurate plant records and forms, including customer billing sheets and daily inventory.
  • Utilizes smartphone and laptop to complete work and document test results
  • Confers with customers to determine problems and acceptable resolutions and provides extensive training on all services provided.
  • Promotes and offers all other services provided by ATMC.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and efficiency in all services offered.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge and understanding of internet/networking and data communications fundamentals (e.g. protocols, standards).

IT COMPUTER USER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a IT Computer User Support Specialist. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The IT Computer User Support Specialist provides technical assistance to computer users. Answers questions and resolves problems for clients in person, via telephone, or electronically. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

The IT Computer User Support Specialist is responsible for the installation and configuration of new computers, printers, and other hardware peripherals. Maintains reliable documentation of computer and end user configurations. Attends project, team, and departmental meetings and interfaces with outside departments to design and build required IT infrastructure. Assists the director in developing and implementing security standards and other duties as assigned, including keeping up to date with current technologies.

The IT Computer User Support Specialist reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles and practices of personal computers, telecommunications, and information technology. Experience with Windows Desktop, Windows Server, OS/400, OS X, VMWare, and Linux. Networking experience. Ability to communicate technical information effectively. Knowledge of Active Directory. Knowledge of Exchange Server. Knowledge of networking and routing technologies and protocols, including DNS and DHCP. Working knowledge of computer hardware and software. Ability to communicate with co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments. Minimum Qualifications/Education and Experience:

SOFTWARE APPLICATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The Software Application Support Specialist is responsible for providing support for ATMC’s software applications. Re-creates user issues to document software bugs or database work-running queries to find data issues and correct them. Gathers feedback from users to coordinate with the other software development team members regarding both improvements and bug fixes. Assists with the testing of software development projects. Serves as the backup for the running of the billing processes.

The Software Application Support Specialist reports to the Manager, Software Development.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Interface with ATMC’s users to provide support for software applications
  • Utilize a support ticketing system to track all requests to resolution
  • Query and Update database tables as needed for purposes of issue resolution
  • Test and document software development releases

MANAGER, OSP ENGINEERING GIS/CAD

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a full-time Manager, OSP Engineering GIS/CAD. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Manager, OSP Engineering GIS/CAD manages Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering GIS/CAD Technician and Analyst staff, including related operations involving OSP records and GIS/subscriber databases relative to wide area fiber networks, Fiber to the Home (FTTH), broadband deployments, traditional copper and fiber communications network design in compliance with RUS specifications, Hybrid-Fiber Coaxial (HFC) cable television networks, and various other subscriber and geospatial information. Manages Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) mapping systems and databases, software, field data collection, database integration, and implements associated training as required. Provides management and support for the OSP Engineering Department’s projects and activities from the GIS/CAD perspective, including coordination of activities regarding Consulting Engineering and Contract Construction forces relative to large scale and ongoing internal and external projects. Manages and maintains all of the OSP Engineering project records regarding network designs and virtual connectivity, work plans, and detailed drawings generated by OSP Engineers, OSP Project Engineers, GIS/CAD Technicians, GIS Analysts, and outside Engineering Contractors regarding engineering design of commercial, large development, NCDOT rearrangement, FTTH, CATV system upgrade, fiber splice, broadband, data circuits, special circuits, wireless backhaul, line extension, reinforcement, regrades, and other special projects. Responsible for training of associated engineering and other cross-departmental personnel regarding GIS/CAD related system(s) usage and job package workflows. Supervises ongoing maintenance of equipment records, including Continuing Property Records (CPRs) and associated account codes, design, and work print files. Improves existing methods and deploys new techniques for mapping, recording, and sharing operational and geospatial information and data with internal and external customers. Directs and assists in regulatory reporting of plant facilities and data relevant to OSP facilities and subscribers.

The Manager, OSP Engineering GIS/CAD reports to the Director of OSP Engineering.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Oversight of basic and advanced processing, editing, and production tasks for OSP Engineering using ArcGIS, ESRI , NetDesigner or other software, applications, analysis, and extension platforms.
  • Collaborates closely with the IT department to ensure integrity, performance, availability, capacity, security, auditing, and compliance of systems and supporting processes.
  • Analyzes GIS technology requirements and products for OSP Engineering and other departments.
  • Directs the creation and maintenance of reports, web maps, and similar applications for both internal use and external clients.
  • Provides quality assurance procedures for OSP Engineering records and GIS data integrity.
  • Interfaces and coordinates workflow directly with internal and external departments, vendors, contractors, and organizations.
  • Simultaneously manages multiple projects for clients while achieving project goals and reporting within specified time frames.
  • Plans, organizes, supervises, reviews, and evaluate the work of GIS/CAD project team staff in a manner that is conducive to independent judgment, high performance, and personal accountability.
  • Pursues professional and personal development for department staff to ensure continuous competitive knowledge of the industry.
  • Ensures deadlines are met and department tasks are accurately completed in a fast-paced production environment to ensure highest level of internal and external client relationships.
  • Reviews the accuracy, completeness, and quality of all work orders and complete project packages for local and wide area OSP networks, specifically, staking sheets, materials required, distributions, instructions, locate requirements, subscriber data changes, cost estimates, and comparisons, etc.
  • Promotes a positive company image to customers, co-workers, contractors, management, and others.
  • Participates in intra-departmental planning and training.
  • Makes job safety a primary objective in all duties.
  • Maintains a current and valid driver’s license to perform the duties of this position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of GIS analysis and cartographic principles (as well as drafting principles), practices, and mapping software including ArcMap 10.2 Desktop, ArcSDE database, ArcGIS Online, Microsoft Dynamix AX, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
  • Programming experience with working knowledge of Python, ArcObjects, Microsoft Access.
  • Experience with ArcSDE, SQL Server, including relational database support and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge will be required of the following in order to direct staff in analysis and production workflows: CableCad, NetDesigner, LodeData, XMAP, AutoCad, MicroStation, AS/400 data applications, and other authorized ATMC data systems relative to the ATMC OSP network and customer records applications, including design, drafting, integration, and mapping software.
  • Skill in operating various PC software programs including Word, Excel, VISIO, Adobe Acrobat, various CAD/GIS specific software, and engineering equipment such as: measuring tapes, laser range finder, height measuring rods, measuring wheels, Trimble GPS data collection units and associated software, and office equipment such as printer, copier, scanner, fax machines, and telephone systems.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations affecting engineering projects and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of company products/services, policies and procedures.
  • Good listening, verbal and written communication skills, and above average mathematical and problem solving abilities.
  • Skill in prioritizing, completing multiple tasks, identifying problems and finding resolutions.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Graphics, or other related fields of study with a GIS concentration. 10 years in a progressive GIS/CAD project management and development role, including a minimum 5 years’ experience in a proven GIS/CAD Management role is desired. Master’s Degree and GISP certification is preferred.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a full-time Construction Technician. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Construction Technician operates equipment such as locators, trenchers, backhoes, and borers in burying cable plant and in burying service drops at customer locations. May operate other heavy equipment. Will use hand tools such as shovels, spades, rakes, etc. Responsible for routine care and scheduling maintenance of assigned equipment. May be required to safely and legally operate a truck with a trailer.

The Construction Technician reports to the Construction Manager.

MANAGER, OUTSIDE PLANT (OSP) ENGINEERING – DESIGN

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a Manager, Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering - Design. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Manager, Outside Plant Engineering (OSP) – Design manages and directs the OSP Engineering Design team involving wide area fiber networks, Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and broadband deployments, traditional copper and fiber communications network design in compliance with RUS specifications, Hybrid-Fiber Coaxial (HFC) cable television networks, and overall OSP network capacity planning. Provides Project Management and Quality Control of OSP Engineering design team related projects and activities, including those regarding Consulting Engineering and Contract Construction forces relative to large scale and ongoing internal and external projects. Reviews the designs, work plans, associated costs, and detailed drawings generated by OSP Engineers and outside Engineering Contractors regarding OSP Engineering Design of large commercial, large development, NCDOT rearrangement, FTTH, CATV system upgrade, fiber splice, broadband, data circuits, special circuits, wireless backhaul, line extension, reinforcement, regrade, OSP network planning, and special projects. Coordinates with GIS-CAD team regarding ongoing maintenance of OSP cable and equipment records, including Continuing Property Records (CPRs) and associated account codes, design, and work print files. Supervises cost study analysis for feasibility studies regarding project proposals as requested. Coordinates maintenance and administrative procedures with Engineering Director involving OSP related contracts such as RUS, Construction, Splicing, and Contract Engineering. Acquires real estate and implements new equipment site builds, including wide area planning, design, legal, and survey processes. Assists in reviewing new technologies and potential services and makes recommendations on engineering and design requirements, improvements, costs, and impacts.

This position reports to the Director of OSP Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of twisted pair copper, coaxial, and fiber telecommunication OSP systems design, including voice-grade telephone service (POTS), Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) CATV, and broadband architectures including Very High Bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP). Must be knowledgeable in construction practices and engineering practices, principles, and specifications regarding each respective Outside Plant network system.
  • Ability to utilize CableCadCAD, NetDesigner/ESRI GIS mapping and database systems, LodeData, VISIO, XMAP, and other design, drafting, or mapping software. Working knowledge of AS400 system data (or other authorized ATMC Data Systems, including plant and customer records applications).
  • Skill in operating various PC software programs including Word, Excel Spreadsheet, Adobe Acrobat, various CAD/GIS specific software, and engineering equipment such as: measuring tapes, laser range finder, height measuring rods, measuring wheels, and GPS data collection units.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations affecting engineering projects and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of company products/services, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills and above average mathematical and problem-solving abilities.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field), minimum of 7 years OSP Engineering experience preferred, or a minimum of 15 years of equivalent practical and technical experience demonstrating a progressive career path of increasing OSP Engineering knowledge/skill levels, project management, and team management responsibilities, or a combination thereof.

COMMUNICATION SERVICES LEVEL II TECHNICIAN

ATMC, North Carolina’s largest telecommunications cooperative, is currently seeking a full-time Communication Services Level II Technician. ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Communication Services Level II Technician will work in the Communications Services Control Center, which consists of the Broadband Level II Technical Support, Installation, Repair, and Assignment departments. Duties consist of processing service orders, dispatching trouble reports, dispatching work orders, receiving incoming customer trouble calls and troubleshooting each repair call before dispatching, incoming work completion calls, entering information into ATMC’s trouble management system using a personal computer, and assigning all service related orders. Level II is responsible for providing laptop/desktop/server/wireless support to ATMC customers over the phone. Regular repair work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On-call work hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, the Level II on-call technician provides monitoring from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM in one-week increments. When working on Saturday, the Level II Technician takes a day off during the workweek prior to that Saturday if workload permits. Schedules are subject to change.

The Communication Services Level II Technician reports to the Manager, Communications Specialists.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Receive customer requests by telephone and/or email escalations regarding DOCSIS, IPTV, VDSL & ADSL
  • Proficiency in ATMC’s Work Management system, assign work tickets to repair technicians and/or appropriate departments
  • Assist customers to further determine problems and acceptable resolutions
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize customer issues
  • Troubleshoot calls with the customer regarding technical support issues for all ATMC Broadband customers
  • Provide support for ATMC webmail/email

Essential Job Functions:

  • Proficiency with ATMC’s trouble management system.
  • Assign repair tickets to assigned repair technicians and/or appropriate departments using ATMC’s trouble management system.
  • Troubleshoot calls with the customer regarding technical support issues, phone, CATV, set-top boxes, and remotes.
  • Review, process, and close service orders from various ATMC departments.
  • Route service orders to the appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare service orders for the installer, which includes reviewing plant, equipment charges, address, contact numbers, correct codes, and other information (Assignment & INST routing).
  • Receive service orders at completion of work from the installer, review for correct information, and close the service order.
  • Pay special attention to maintain and provide the most current, accurate, and detailed plant assignment information.
  • Disable and enable DSLAM from assignment emails for customer service.
  • Work and process all service orders.
  • Reviews orders and determine if additional routing is needed and route to appropriate department.
  • Track box sales from CSG technicians.
  • Prepare MOPs for ATMC’s service & equipment for training purposes.
  • Monitoring work management for outages and update MOD.
  • Prepare daily repair & installation schedules.
  • Update and assign service orders with corrected plant information.
  • Proficiency with ETI, Meta / EWSD switches, XVU, CMS, ServAssure & ClearVison.
  • Proficiency with ATMC Legends CAD viewer software
  • Capability of maintaining self-schedule via Office Tracker.
  • Update daily referrals from outside plant and other departments.
  • Set up modems for walk-in customers at other offices.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
